zeh-n (noun): mind, the seat of thought, wisdom, and inner knowing. (Pronounced like “zen.”)

Language of origin: Persian

The name Zehn Space carries a story that is both personal and timeless. Zehn means “mind” in Farsi, the language of the founder’s Persian ancestors—a culture celebrated for its ancient traditions of philosophy, poetry, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge and inner wisdom. For centuries, Persian scholars, poets, and seekers explored the vast landscape of the soul, believing that true wellness begins with the education of the self and the cultivation of spirit.

This name was chosen to honor that heritage and to create a modern sanctuary where those same values can thrive. Zehn Space is a reflection of the founder’s own journey—a place where mind, body, and spirit meet in the lifelong practice of self-discovery. Here, we embrace curiosity, connection, and growth as pathways to deeper vitality and meaning.

Sarah A. Armaghan

Founder + CEO

Founder Sarah A. created Zehn Space to make mind–body wellness more accessible to Kinnelon and the surrounding area, sharing the practices that have shaped her own 20-year journey toward groundedness and vitality.

Sarah’s vision for Zehn Space was born from personal experience. After years of navigating her own health challenges and the profound losses of her parents, she became acutely aware of how life’s stressors impact us on a daily, functional level. Zehn Space was created to offer a safe, inclusive sanctuary where people can learn practical tools to manage whatever life brings, with compassion, authenticity, and a sense of community.

Sarah is a 250-hour certified yoga instructor specializing in vinyasa and yin styles and is passionate about weaving pranayama (breathwork) into every practice. She is also a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in private practice, bringing a therapeutic understanding of anxiety, mood regulation, and emotional well-being to her yoga, meditation, and coaching sessions.

This unique blend of movement, breath, and a therapeutic lens gives Zehn Space a distinctive edge; sessions are more than exercise, they are an opportunity for healing, grounding, and growth.

Beyond individual services, Sarah offers career and life coaching informed by over 15 years of professional experience, including five years as Chief Experience Officer at the MTA Long Island Rail Road and a decade as a journalist at top New York City publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Newsday, and the New York Daily News. Having successfully navigated multiple career pivots, she helps clients identify not only their health goals but also their life goals, creating a personalized roadmap toward the future they envision.

Sarah lives in Kinnelon with her husband and their rescue dog, Max, and finds daily inspiration in the area’s parks and trails, from Silas Condict County Park to the RVA fields in Boonton. When she’s not guiding clients, you might find her hiking, practicing her favorite yoga pose (right now it’s lizard), or soaking in the beauty of the natural world.
